On Saturday 4 March, Edgo will be teaming up with the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (APN) to plant trees in celebration of Arbor Day.
The event takes place at Al-Hussein Youth City (the Sports City) in Amman and is a key part of Edgo’s Better Edgo Citizen initiative aimed at supporting and developing the communities in which it operates.
Edgo has been committed to protecting the environment it works in since the beginning of its operations which included drilling water wells in Abu Dhabi during the 1960s. In its early days, Edgo was at the forefront of helping develop the country and, as part of this project, flew in palm trees using Douglas DC-3 propeller planes to ‘green’ the area, improve the environment and counterbalance the drilling activities in the region.
The Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (APN) is an independent non-profit organization concerned with the protection of the environment and natural resources of Arab countries against all hazards, including the destructive impacts of wars and foreign occupations. APN was established in April 2003 by a group of motivated people who aim to protect the Arab environment alongside regional and international organizations.
