A word from our founder
Munib R. Masri

In the 1950s when I founded Edgo with my wife, Angela, our aim was to contribute to the growth of the Arab world. At the time this meant meeting the challenge of providing water – a resource vital to the region’s social and economic development.

Many decades later, Edgo’s focus remains the same – to aid in the development of the region through building the energy sector by bringing the best technology and expertise to the region. Fulfilling this aim has also seen us build a diverse portfolio of interests which include technology, logistics, infrastructure, real estate and airport services. Our group now comprises several heritage, joint venture and acquired businesses, combining integrated delivery capabilities, capital and renowned industry expertise.

From the very beginning, Edgo has always taken a long-term view of both our business and the environments in which we work. Over time our teams and our relationships with all stakeholders in our business have evolved and continue to be built upon to meet the demands of the modern world, capitalize on meaningful opportunities and futureproof our business and the environment in which we operate.

Edgo’s ability to adapt has long been one of its strengths and our agility is underpinned with a drive to continually improve and streamline our service and operations to ensure peak efficiency to perform in today’s world.

Throughout Edgo’s history, building and developing the communities in the Arab world has been intertwined with our work. The Munib & Angela Masri Foundation, Edgo’s charitable arm, has been instrumental in the creation and support of many important educational institutions including the Munib & Angela Masri Institute of Energy and Natural Resources at the American University of Beirut and the Al Quds Academy for Scientific Research. I am proud to say that since it was established the work of the Foundation has benefitted more than 20,000 students and 20 universities.

As the head of a family-owned business, which is an established investor in Jordan, I believe we have the potential to become inspiring stewards and a collective force to build fairer and more sustainable economies.

I am a lifelong student of leadership and I have learned, through trial and error, that businesses rise and fall due to their people. I am proud to be part of the Edgo team who have made this organization a special one and I look forward to us continuing to innovate and take our business to new heights.
